Mini-Mites come short of a win, in a nearly tied game of 4-3. We had an "almost goal" that may or may not have crossed the goal line, so in our hearts it was a tie.
Our little kiddos were thrilled about their practice & game-time today. As promised, we brought pudding to practice time to remember our somehow joyful loss just two weeks before. Fortunately, the 6-7 year old set is resilient. They cared not about that loss and more about the pudding, reminiscing together about how they called out "Pudding!!" when they finally scored during that game. Gotta love kids.
So today, we played a team that actually taught and used field positions of offense and defense which actually made it possible for us to play them strategically and practice new skills. Both teams were amazing and showed off their ability to trap the ball, change direction, pass, challenge another player, and even score. They talked to each other on the field, they made sure not to trample their own teammates, and they loved every minute of the game. Their parents were the best cheerleaders from the opposite side of the field, calling out encouragement to all kids on the team. I loved this since these families don't know each other for the most part.
The other coach was positive, encouraging, instructive, and Coffee Man and I were just giddy about the whole day. In the end, as always, the score mattered little, while the depth of the experience was immeasurable.
The sun shined brightly. The fall colors were brilliant. There was pudding...and giggling. Joy.

Sounds like a wonderful outing! We're a baseball family and enjoy it so much.
Congratulations on the *tie* game! :)(Maybe they need to do replays-lol.) I've felt that way a few times in baseball games-hehe.
